1. Helping your prompts pick up where you left off

SecondBrain uses conversation context to help your next prompt reflect what you are working on.

With the extension enabled, our context-building services receive your messages and the AI’s replies from supported chatbot pages as the conversation progresses. This keeps context ready for your next optimization, including between optimization requests. Messages displayed when you return to a conversation can also contribute.

The extension supports ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Grok, Meta AI, and Microsoft Copilot.

When you choose Optimize, SecondBrain brings together your draft and a limited selection of recent exchanges and the broader context. An AI provider uses this information to refine your prompt, with instructions to draw on the conversation only when relevant.

For example, context can help carry forward an audience, requirement, preferred format, or terminology you have already discussed. Recent conversations across supported chatbots can contribute within the same browser installation.

Details such as the chatbot, available model, conversation reference, and message timing help keep exchanges organized. Links and citations included in messages may also be processed.

A randomly generated installation identifier helps SecondBrain retrieve context associated with your extension. Your optional email account for saved-prompt backup is managed separately.

2. Using our website prompt tools

Our website tools work with the brief you provide, including any goals, examples, audience details, constraints, or formatting preferences.

When you submit a generation or optimization request, SecondBrain uses those details to prepare the result. Extension optimization can also draw on recent conversation context as described above.

We keep extension optimization records that may include the original draft, the improved prompt, platform and model details, timing, and request outcomes. These help us deliver the feature and maintain its quality, consistency, and reliability.

3. Keeping your saved prompts available

You can use the extension and save prompts without creating an account.

Saved prompts stay in your browser with details such as their platform, model, and save time.

If you would like them available across browsers, you can sign in with an email code or sign-in link. We use your email address, verification status, and session information to provide and protect that account.

Signing in through the Synced storage flow enables cloud backup and brings your existing local saved prompts into your cloud library. Your connected browsers can then keep additions, edits, and deletions in sync.

You can pause synchronization using the Local/Synced control or the cloud-backup toggle. Existing cloud copies remain available until you delete them or delete your account.

Changes waiting to sync can remain on your browser until synchronization resumes. Signing out preserves account-specific local work so you can return to it later.

Deleting your account removes its current cloud saved-prompt library and account sessions. Local-only originals remain under your browser’s control.

The Local/Synced setting manages saved-prompt backup. Conversation context and user context follow the extension’s enabled state, as explained in Section 1.

4. Keeping the service working smoothly

We use technical information to maintain compatibility, manage usage limits, complete requests, and support account access and synchronization.

This includes installation and session identifiers, IP addresses, browser or device information, request times, and delivery or synchronization results.

Your browser also stores preferences, saved prompts, session information, configuration, and changes waiting to be sent. Pending information may be sent when your connection returns.

Our website uses first-party cookies and related technical information for service operation and usage management.

On other websites, the extension’s optional floating control provides a shortcut to SecondBrain without collecting those pages’ content.

If you contact us, we use the details and message you provide to help with your request.

5. Services that help SecondBrain work

We work with providers for specific parts of the service:

We limit information shared with each provider to what is needed for its role. Their applicable service agreements govern processing and retention.

The chatbot websites you use have their own privacy policies covering their services.

We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to address security, fraud, or abuse. If a merger or acquisition involves transferring extension user data, we will obtain explicit prior consent as required by the Chrome Web Store’s Limited Use rules.

6. Keeping information connected to its purpose

We use the information for the features, capabilities, and functionalities described in this policy and to maintain our service quality, compatibility, reliability, product maintenance, and security.

We do not sell the data to advertisers, nor do we use it for advertising.

If helping with a support request requires reviewing specific prompt or conversation content, we ask for your permission. Other human review of identifiable content is limited to necessary security investigations and legal requirements.

Aggregated, anonymized information may support internal operational reporting.

7. Protecting information

We use encrypted connections, access controls, and measures designed to protect service credentials and account access.

Cloud saved-prompt content and routine account backups are encrypted using keys managed by SecondBrain. These keys allow the service to provide synchronization and restore functions.

Local prompts, preferences, session information, and pending changes use browser extension storage.

8. Keeping and removing information

Local saved prompts remain until you delete them, clear the relevant browser storage, or remove the extension. Account-specific local copies and pending changes can remain after sign-out.

Cloud saved data remain until you delete it or delete the account. Changes made while offline reach the server after synchronization.

We retain conversation context and optimization records for context-aware features and related service operations. You can contact us to request their deletion.

9. Your choices

You can:

• Use the extension without an account.
• Choose Local or Synced storage for saved prompts.
• Edit, delete, or export saved prompts using the available controls.
• Sign out or delete your saved-prompt account.
• Stop new user or conversation-context updates by disabling or uninstalling the extension.
• Manage website cookies and local storage through your browser.

For conversation-context or optimization records, our team can help with a separate privacy request.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict the use of your information, withdraw consent, or contact a relevant privacy authority.

We may ask for details needed to find the correct records and verify your request.

10. International processing

Information may be processed in countries where SecondBrain or its providers operate. We apply the safeguards required by applicable law to relevant international transfers.

11. Staying in touch

We update this policy as features and information practices evolve. We will explain material changes through appropriate notices and request additional consent where required.
